About FileOnTap

Simple file tools without an upload step

FileOnTap offers browser-based tools for image and PDF tasks. Supported conversions and compression run on your device, without sending the selected source files to a FileOnTap conversion server.

Why build browser-local tools?

Modern browsers can perform many everyday image and PDF tasks on the device. FileOnTap uses that capability to avoid an upload step for its current tools.

Local processing does not mean the site makes no network requests: the page and its code still need to load, and basic analytics may run. The selected file content is processed in the browser. See our Privacy page for the distinction.

What FileOnTap offers today

What local processing does not mean

A converted file is a new file. It may not retain all source metadata or format-specific features. For example, HEIC conversion does not include the motion part of a Live Photo. Keep originals when archival fidelity matters.

Privacy and analytics

Selected source files stay in the browser during processing; they are not uploaded to a FileOnTap conversion server. We use basic analytics for page and tool usage, without including file contents or file names in analytics events. See the Privacy page for details.

Who maintains the guides?

FileOnTap publishes and maintains the tool instructions and format guides on this site. Guide pages identify FileOnTap as their publisher and display a recorded update date. Windows, Apple, and browser features can change; when a guide links to official product documentation, use it to verify current system requirements.

Terms and transparent use

For current usage limits and privacy boundaries, read our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Keep originals and check converted results.
