How your files are processed
FileOnTap's current image and PDF tools read selected files and create results in your browser. Source file contents are not uploaded to a FileOnTap conversion server. The resulting files are made available for you to download from the browser.
Local processing does not mean your browser is offline. It still requests pages, scripts, styles, and other site assets. Those ordinary network requests can carry standard connection information, such as an IP address and browser details, to the hosting provider. They are separate from uploading the files you select for conversion.
Analytics and third parties
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand basic page views and tool usage, including events such as conversion starts, outcomes, and download clicks. Depending on the tool page, those events are sent through Google's browser script or a restricted FileOnTap event endpoint that forwards permitted event data to GA4. Analytics events do not include file contents or file names.
GA4 is a third-party service. Its script and requests may process ordinary browser and connection information and may use cookies or similar technologies under Google's policies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics does not change the browser-local file processing itself.
We do not use the analytics events to transmit the selected source files. If our data practices change materially, this page should be updated to describe the new behavior.
